How to Watch Tinsel Town TV

Tinsel Town TV is a broadcast television network. That means our signal is free to watch over the air. What, exactly, does that mean? It means you need a digital antenna to watch us. But don’t worry! Don’t have an antenna? No problem! Keep reading and we’ll tell you how easy and inexpensive it is to get Tinsel Town TV and start enjoying all our great content.

First, let’s make something clear – Tinsel Town TV is free to watch and completely free of any commercials. And we always will be. No subscriptions, no signups, no app downloads, no credit cards, no tricky free trials, and no annoying sales guys trying to sell you pillows or extended car warranties.

The only thing you need to watch us is a TV and a digital antenna. Now, if you don’t have an antenna and you’re within 50 miles of our closest station, all you need is an inexpensive indoor antenna that you attach to the inside of a window. A excellent choice is the Antennas Direct ClearStream Flex indoor antenna. The New York Times ranked it #1 in its July 2023 indoor antenna recommendation list. You can grab one for right around $60 on Amazon. Another great and even less expensive choice is the Antier AN2028As of this writing, the Antier AN2028 rates 4.8 out of 5 stars on Amazon with over 8,000 reviews and can be bought for around $26 bucks.

OK, I bought an antenna…now what?

Got your antenna? Great! Now follow the instructions to hook it up:

  1. Take the antenna out of the box and check everything that came included. If you bought either the ClearStream Flex or the Antier AN2028, you should have the antenna itself, an amplifier box, a coaxial cable that connect to your TV, and a USB cord and power plug.
  2. Follow the instructions that came with your antenna to properly place it. If you have the ClearStream Flex or any other window-mounted unit, you should stick the antenna as high up as possible in a window. If you have the Antier AN2028 or one like it, place the antenna high up on your entertainment center or shelf.
  3. On the back of your TV you’ll find a coaxial cable input jack. It’ll look a lot like this:
Now keep in mind every TV is different, so you’ll have to look around on the back of TV to find your coaxial input jack. But don’t worry – you’ll find it.
  4. Screw the coaxial cable from your antenna into this coaxial input jack on your TV.
  5. Next, your antenna needs power. Power comes from a USB connection. Your antenna came with a USB cable and plug included, but be aware you have a choice here. You can either plug the USB power cable into the included plug and then plug that into the wall, or if your TV has an available USB input jack, you can skip the included power plug and just plug the USB cord directly into the USB jack on your TV.
  6. Now this is the most important step! You must do a channel rescan on your TV! A channel rescan forces your TV to go out and and look for any channels that it can find on your new antenna. If you skip this step, there will be channels out there that your TV just doesn’t know about it…and one of them just might be Tinsel Town TV. Yikes!
  7. To do a channel rescan, you need your TV’s remote. Your remote might have a button dedicated to rescanning, but most don’t. Most remotes require you to click the Menu button and then find the rescan option in the menus on your TV screen.
  8. The rescan may take 30 minutes or more to finish, but once it’s done, you’ll be surprised at how many channels you get from your antenna! Along with Tinsel Town TV, you’ll find Get TV, Kozi TV, Buzzr, Heroes and Icons, Antenna TV, Catchy Comedy, and a host of others…plus you’ll get your local NBC, CBS, PBS, ABC, and Fox affiliates, too! Who needs cable?

But I have cable or dish TV, what about me?

If you have cable or satellite TV, you can still easily get Tinsel Town TV by purchasing an inexpensive antenna like the ones we listed above. If you don’t have an antenna and are just depending on your cable or satellite subscription, you don’t know what you’re missing!

To connect an antenna to your TV along with your cable or satellite box, all you have to do is make sure your cable or satellite converter box is hooked into one of the HDMI input ports on your TV. Then connect your digital antenna to your TV’s coaxial input jack. Then when you want to watch Tinsel Town TV, all you have to do is press the Input or Source button on your remote and switch back and forth between cable or satellite and your antenna.
